With iPaint, you can expect...
...to know your painter.
Denise Grant founded iPaint Creative Colour in January of 2012 after years of consulting and painting for family, friends, friends of family, family of friends, etc. After a 20+ year high school and university teaching career, she and her husband moved to the small hamlet of Kingsport, Nova Scotia, took stock, and decided to make a lifestyle change. Both took the leap to self-employment and iPaint Creative Colour was born.
Denise works alone, and is bonded and insured, so you can feel secure knowing who will be working in your home. And in addition to being a musician (creative), dog-lover (easy-going with ALL members of your family), and avid hiker (fit!), Denise is a Virgo, which means you're getting a meticulous, well-organized painter with high attention to detail.
...clear, written estimates with no surprises.
You will receive a detailed and firm estimate that I will review and sign with you. If I underestimate the time to complete a job, you will not pay for the extra hours. That estimate is my guarantee to you. If, however, you make additional requests to the signed off-on estimate, we will have to revisit the estimate and make adjustments to reflect those changes. Bottom line? What we agree on is what you will pay.
...that I will respect your home.
When completing residential painting work, I come into your space with respect and care for you, your property and your belongings. Your home is your home, not a messy work-site. To that end, I will cover your furniture and floors with drop cloths; clean up and remove (or store) all materials at the end of each day; move and re-place small items carefully; and schedule the project, and my time in your home, at your convenience.
I will complete your painting services with as little disturbance as possible to you and your family, creating an easy painting experience for you.

...eco-conscious painting
Thankfully, many oil-based paints are being phased out in Canada. Environment Canada has imposed restrictions on VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions with a staggered schedule of compliance dates for architectural coatings (i.e. house paint). You can read more about it here: http://snipurl.com/23rz8ak
I use low or no VOC paints whenever possible, and frequently review safety data sheets of the materials I use. Using good quality paints eliminates the need for multiple coats, and I strive to buy the exact amount of paint needed. If there is leftover paint, it can be labelled and stored for future projects or touch-ups.
I choose green cleaning and prep products. It isn't necessary to use T.S.P. and similar chemicals when there is a good selection of less harmful cleaners that work very well.
When cleaning up at the end of each day, I literally squeeze the paint out of my tools. This minimizes waste, overall paint costs, and environmental exposure. And when cleaning brushes and roller sleeves, I am conscious of the water I use and where it goes.

...satisfaction, guaranteed.
I won't begin a job without listening to you and ensuring I know exactly what you want, and I will explain the process to you so you know exactly what to expect. No surprises.
At the end of the job I will do a final walk around with you to ensure that the job is completed to the scope that we agreed upon. I am not finished until you are completely satisfied.
